The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) is one of the largest public sector tertiary care hospitals and teaching institutions in Islamabad, operating under the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination. Eligibility Criteria for PIMS Jobs (August) 2026
1. Professor (BS-20) — 6 Posts
- Qualification: MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by PMDC (or M.Sc for Basic Science subjects for non-medical graduates), plus D.Sc / Ph.D / FCPS / M.D / M.S / M.Phil in the respective subject.
- Experience: Three years’ teaching experience as Associate Professor (total AP / Associate Professor experience not less than 8 years in a postgraduate institute), OR nine years as Assistant Professor / four years as Associate Professor in an undergraduate institute (total not less than 12 years).
- Research: At least two research papers during three years as Associate Professor (total not less than five), OR at least three during Associate Professorship (total not less than seven, for undergraduate colleges).
- Age: Maximum 52 years (relaxation up to 55 years).
- Specialties: Cardiac Surgery (1), Dermatology (1), Emergency Medicine (1), Neonatology (1), Paediatric Surgery (1), Pulmonology (1).
- Quota: Sindh Rural (Open Merit) 2, Sindh Urban (Open Merit) 2, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Open Merit) 2.
2. Medical Officer (BS-17) — 50 Posts
- Qualification: MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
- Valid registration with PMDC till the closing date is required.
- Age: 22–32 years (+5 years relaxation).
- Quota: Merit 4, Punjab 24 (Open Merit 21, Women 2, Minorities / Non-Muslims 1), Sindh Rural 6 (Open Merit 5, Women 1), Sindh Urban (Open Merit) 3, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 6 (Open Merit 5, Minorities / Non-Muslims 1), Balochistan (Open Merit) 3, EX-FATA (Open Merit) 2, Gilgit-Baltistan (Open Merit) 1, AJK (Open Merit) 1.
3. Principal Technician (BS-17) — 5 Posts
- Qualification: Second Class or Grade ‘C’ Master’s OR Bachelor (16 years education) degree in the relevant discipline (or any other equivalent qualification recognized by PMDC).
- Age: 20–30 years (+5 years relaxation).
- Categories: Cardiology (1), General (1), Medical Store / Pharmacy (1), Operation Theatre (1), Pathology (1). Candidates must indicate the category (A to E) applied for, with a separate application and fee for each category.
- Quota: Punjab 3 (Open Merit 2, Women 1), Sindh Rural (Open Merit) 1, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Open Merit) 1.
4. Charge Nurse (BS-16) — 70 Posts
- Qualification: Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with the PNC. For male candidates, a one-year course / certificate in a nursing-related field in lieu of Midwifery.
- Valid registration with PNC till the closing date is required.
- Age: 20–28 years (+5 years relaxation).
- Quota: Punjab (Women) 2, Sindh Rural (Women) 2, Sindh Urban 20 (Open Merit 14, Women 3, Minorities / Non-Muslims 3), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Minorities / Non-Muslims) 1, Balochistan 38 (Open Merit 32, Women 4, Minorities / Non-Muslims 2), Gilgit-Baltistan 2 (Open Merit 1, Women 1), AJK 5 (Open Merit 3, Women 1, Minorities / Non-Muslims 1).
Application Fee
- BS-16 to BS-17: Rs. 600
- BS-18: Rs. 1,500
- BS-19: Rs. 2,500
- BS-20 and above: Rs. 3,000
- The fee is deposited on or before the closing date online against a dedicated PSID (generated by the FPSC Online Portal), paid via 1-Link facility (ATM / mobile banking / EasyPaisa / JazzCash), over the counter or other mobile apps.
