About Punjab Daanish Schools & Centres of Excellence Authority

Daanish Schools are free, fully residential schools set up by the Government of Punjab for talented children from low-income and underprivileged families. The project was launched in 2010 and each school admits around 110 students a year, the vast majority purely on merit and at no cost, with free education, boarding and meals.

The system is governed by its own legislation — the Daanish School Act passed by the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab — and is administered by the Punjab Daanish Schools & Centres of Excellence Authority (PDS&CEA), with the Chief Minister of Punjab as Chairman. Campuses are affiliated with the Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education of Punjab.

The Authority runs two kinds of institution, and both advertise jobs:

Daanish Schools – purpose-built residential campuses with separate boys and girls wings (Attock, Mianwali, Mankera, Chishtian, Hasilpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and others). Because students board on site, these campuses recruit far beyond teaching staff — wardens, doctors, nurses, mess and kitchen staff, drivers, electricians, security guards and janitorial staff.

Daanish School Pay Scale & Employment Terms

Daanish Schools do not use the standard BPS grades. Posts are advertised under the Authority’s own DS Scale / Officer Grade (OG) structure — subject teaching posts are almost always advertised in OG-I. Appointments are made on a contract basis, renewable subject to performance, and selected staff may be transferred to any Daanish School or Centre of Excellence within Punjab.
