The Pakistan Railways has announced job opportunities for the year 2026 through pakrail.gov.pk, inviting applications for engagement on a contract basis in the Directorate of Land Management, Headquarters Office, Lahore.
A total of 81 vacancies are available across 20 posts — including Managers, Assistant Managers, Judicial Magistrate, Inspectors, Supervisors and Assistants — in scales equivalent to BPS-09 to BPS-18. Eligibility Criteria for pakrail (Railways) Jobs 2026
1. Manager Property and Land — BPS-18
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with PEC registration, having 5 years’ relevant experience in land management or equivalent.
2. Manager Legal — BPS-18
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or MBA or any other relevant degree, having 5 years’ post-qualification experience in the relevant field.
3. Manager Contract — BPS-18
- MBA (Marketing/Finance) or Master of Law (LLM), having 5 years’ post-qualification experience in the relevant field (Contract Management).
4. Manager GIS — BPS-18
- Master’s in Geographical Information System from an HEC-recognized university or any other relevant qualification (minimum 16 years of education), having minimum 5–8 years’ relevant experience.
5. Manager Land Revenue — BPS-18
- BA/BSc; retired Deputy Director/Assistant Director/Tehsildar Revenue who has served at least 15 years in the Provincial/Land Revenue Department.
6. Manager Land Commercial — BPS-18
- Bachelor’s in Urban Planning or City & Regional Planning, or MBA Marketing/Finance or any other relevant degree, having 5 years’ post-qualification experience in the relevant field.
7. Manager Licensing — BPS-18
- Bachelor’s in Urban Planning or City & Regional Planning, or MBA Marketing/Finance or any other relevant degree, having 5 years’ post-qualification experience in the relevant field.
8. Assistant Manager Prevention — BPS-17
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with PEC registration.
9. Judicial Magistrate — BPS-17
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university, having minimum 2 years’ active practice as an advocate along with a high-court licence.
10. Assistant Manager Commercial — BPS-17
- Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Marketing) or any other relevant qualification, having 3 years’ post-qualification experience in marketing (preferably in the real estate & land management sector).
11. Assistant Manager Contract — BPS-17
- Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Marketing/Finance) or Bachelor’s of Law (LLB), having 3 years’ post-qualification experience in the relevant field.
12. Land Inspector — BPS-16
- Three-year Diploma DAE (Civil) recognized by the Board of Technical Institutions, having 8 years’ relevant experience.
13. GIS Supervisor — BPS-16
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Geographical Information System from an HEC-recognized university (Master’s in GIS preferred), having minimum 3–5 years’ relevant experience (mapping of lands, cartography, geo-referencing, spatial analysis, revenue-record analysis, geo-database maintenance).
14. Assistant Developer GIS — BPS-16
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Geographical Information System from an HEC-recognized university (Master’s in GIS preferred), having minimum 3–5 years’ relevant experience (mapping, cartography, geo-referencing, spatial analysis, geo-database maintenance).
15. Inspector Land Revenue — BPS-16
- BA/BSc; retired Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar or Qanoongo Revenue who has served at least 10 years in the Provincial Revenue Department.
16. Inspector Anti Encroachment — BPS-16
- BA/BSc; ex-Army Officer up to the rank of Subedar Major, or retired Assistant Director/Anti-encroachment Cell from the District Government.
17. Inspector Licensing — BPS-16
- Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Marketing) or any other relevant qualification, having 3 years’ post-qualification experience in marketing (preferably real estate & land management sector).
18. Contract Assistant — BPS-16
- Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Marketing/Finance), having 3 years’ post-qualification experience in the relevant field.
19. Legal Assistant — BPS-16
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB), having 3 years’ post-qualification experience in the relevant field.

- Matric (2nd Division) with a 3-year Patwar Course. Age limit: up to 30 years.
Quota
Candidates must apply as per their educational qualification, experience and region (domicile), and the advertised vacancies are allocated across the Merit, Punjab, Sindh (Urban), Sindh (Rural), KPK and Balochistan quotas as detailed in the advertisement. Candidates meeting the criteria may apply for more than one category.
General Instructions
- Eligibility will be determined on the basis of qualification, relevant experience, and performance in the written test and interview (70% written test + 30% interview).
- Candidates serving in Railways or any other government department must apply through the proper channel with a departmental NOC.
- Incomplete applications or those carrying incorrect information will be rejected; if any document is found bogus, the appointment will be treated as cancelled and legal action will be taken.
- Selected officials/officers may undergo training at the Pakistan Railways Academy Walton or Land Directorate, as deemed necessary.
- Selected candidates will be posted anywhere in Pakistan Railways.
- No TA/DA is admissible for the test and interview.
- Selected candidates are required to pass the prescribed medical examination.
- Pakistan Railways reserves the right to reject any application or suspend/cancel the process without conveying any reason, and to alter the number and distribution of vacancies.
- In-service candidates must apply through the proper channel with an NOC.
Fringe Benefits & Facilities
- Accommodation may be provided, if desired, as per the priority list maintained by Railways administration.
- TA/DA will be allowed as admissible to other civil servants.
- Additional increments will be added to the salaries of selected candidates according to their years of experience in the relevant field, with annual increments as per the equivalent pay scale.
- The contract period is 2 + 1 years, extendable subject to satisfactory performance and approval of the competent authority.
- Facilities including duty passes/privilege passes/PTOs and medical facilities from Railways hospitals (as given to officers of the equivalent scale) will be admissible, excluding pension/gratuity/GPF.
