Eligibility Criteria for Baba Guru Nanak University Jobs (August) 2026
Associate Professor (BS-20)
- Ph.D. in the relevant field from an HEC-recognized institute / university.
- Ten years’ teaching / research experience, OR five years’ post-Ph.D. teaching / research experience.
- Ten research publications in HEC-recognized journals (with the prescribed conditions). For engineering fields, PEC recognition applies where relevant.
Assistant Professor (BS-19)
- Ph.D. in the relevant field (Punjabi, Zoology, Food Science & Technology, Mathematics, Accounting/Finance, English Literature, Physics, Botany, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science / IT, or Metallurgy) from an HEC-recognized institute / university.
Lecturer (BS-18)
- MS or M.Phil in the relevant field from an HEC-recognized institute / university.
- For Fashion Design: a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Designing (first division) or equivalent.
- Note: A candidate with a 3rd division in their academic career is not eligible, unless they hold a Ph.D. with not more than one 3rd division in the entire academic career.
Legal Advisor (Retainership)
- LLM with 10 years’ professional experience, OR LLB with 15 years’ professional experience.
- Advocate Supreme Court with reported judgements in the relevant field will be preferred.
- Retainership fee (all inclusive) Rs. 100,000 per month with 10% annual increment; initial engagement of three years, extendable to five years on satisfactory performance.
Non-Teaching Officer Posts (BS-16 / BS-17)
- Assistant Registrar: Master’s degree / ACCA / ACMA / BS (2nd division).
- Computer Programmer: Master’s or BS (2nd division) in Computer Science / IT / Telecommunication.
- Security Officer: Bachelor’s degree (2nd division), or a retired commissioned officer from the Forces (not retired on medical/disciplinary grounds, within two years of retirement).
- Horticulture Officer: M.Sc (2nd division) in Botany / Horticulture / Forestry, OR B.Sc with two years’ relevant experience.
- Assistant (BS-16): Master’s or BS (2nd division) with five years’ experience in MS Office.
Non-Teaching Contract Posts (BS-01 to BS-05)
- Security Guard: Ex-service man (not below Lance Naik rank, with security experience) or HSSC (2nd division); height 5’6″; chest 32″–34″.
- Bus Driver / Driver (LTV): SSC (2nd division) with a valid HTV/LTV + PSV license and five years’ relevant experience.
- Plumber / Carpenter: SSC (2nd division) with relevant experience / diploma.
- Mali / Bus Conductor / Sweeper: Literate.
Application Fee
- Rs. 4,000 for BS-19 and BS-20 posts.
- Rs. 2,500 for BS-17 and BS-18 posts.
- Rs. 1,000 for BS-16 posts.
- Rs. 500 for BS-01 to BS-05 posts.
- Fee is payable via 1-Link member bank ATM, mobile / internet banking, or over the counter at 1-Link member bank branches before the closing date.
How to Apply
- Apply online through the university job portal at careers.bgnu.edu.pk and pay the applicable fee before the online closing date.
- Submit a signed hard copy / printout of the pre-filled online application form by courier, along with a recent photograph and attested copies of CNIC, domicile, all educational documents (transcripts & certificates) and experience certificates, to the Office of the Registrar, BGNU, Nankana Sahib.
- Candidates applying for Associate Professor must also submit a soft copy of the complete application form and full record of research publications (PDF) on a USB, in addition to the hard copy.
- Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application for each post. For non-teaching posts, only Punjab domicile applications will be entertained.
